I am a Senior Expert at the Bertelsmann Stiftung in Berlin, where I work on questions of democratic reform, political representation and local democracy. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Technical University of Darmstadt and served as interim professor for the Political System of Germany and the EU at the University of Oldenburg.
My research focuses on the analysis of political systems, with a particular emphasis on voter behavior and political attitudes at both the national and local levels. I am also interested in party competition and the influence of populist actors on politics. Methodologically, my work centers on large-scale surveys, especially the use of innovative experimental approaches.
